Report No.0
To initiate mass dialogue across different sectors of the Iranian population, AzNo uses the Pol.is platform. Pol.is is a digital tool designed to facilitate large-scale, structured public dialogue. Participants respond to short statements by agreeing, disagreeing, or passing, capturing a wide range of perspectives. Using machine learning, the platform maps opinion patterns, identifies groups with shared views, and highlights areas where broad agreement emerges across otherwise divergent positions.
Within AzNo, Pol.is functions as a core mechanism for orchestrating this dialogue. It enables diverse participants to engage simultaneously while maintaining clarity and structure. Rather than amplifying the loudest voices, the platform reveals where genuine consensus exists and where disagreement remains. In doing so, it allows complex political questions to be examined collectively and translates dispersed opinions into coherent insights that can inform the project’s broader work.
This section of the website will publish Pol.is reports on a weekly basis, providing a transparent account of how perspectives evolve and where common ground begins to form.

Equally important are the areas of uncertainty that the platform reveals. Statements that participants choose to pass on often indicate points of hesitation, incomplete information, or unresolved judgment. These moments are not incidental. They represent openings for further dialogue, clarification, and engagement. In this sense, we tend not to simply measure opinion but identify where knowledge is limited and where conversation can be most productive.
You can follow the platform’s case studies here.
We then translate the pol.is reports into accessible text formats for our advocacy efforts. These reports allow AzNo to move from raw participation to analysis, identifying the key issues that define each group, the statements that divide them, and the positions that command broader support. AzNo is then set to observe, interpret, and organise public reasoning, providing a foundation for more informed and constructive discussions about Iran’s future. Finding common ground and taking a step closer to unity.
